Maria O. Sanchez, born Oct. 1, 1933, went to be with the Lord on July 30, 2007 at Valley Regional Medical Center. She was a farm worker in the Bakersfield, Calif. area and marched with Cesar Chavez in the 1970’s. She was an excellent cook and well known for her tamales, and her love for gardening.
